Playing Safe

چکیده
We consider two-player games over graphs and give tight bounds on the memory size of strategies ensuring safety conditions. More specifically, we show that the minimal number of memory states of a strategy ensuring a safety condition is given by the size of the maximal antichain of left quotients with respect to language inclusion. This result holds for all safety conditions without any regularity assumptions, and for all (finite or infinite) graphs of finite degree. We give several applications of this general principle. In particular, we characterize the exact memory requirements for the opponent in generalized reachability games, and we prove the existence of positional strategies in games with counters. 1998 ACM Subject Classification F.1.1 Models of Computation

متن کاملPSO-Based Path Planning Algorithm for Humanoid Robots Considering Safety
In this paper we introduce an improvement in the path planning algorithm for the humanoid soccer playing robot which uses Ferguson splines and PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). The objective of the algorithm is to find a path through other playing robots to the ball, which should be as short as possible and also safe enough. Ferguson splines create preliminary paths using random generated para...
متن کاملEffect of Teaching Transportation of the Injured at the Accident Scene on Awareness, Attitude, and Performance of Soldiers by Two Methods of Role Playing and Demonstration
Introduction: The military as the first and largest incident response team in the event of unexpected accidents must be able to use their skills and speed of action to ensure the safe transfer of casualties and to prevent the aggravation of the injuries for the injured. Objective: The current study aimed to determine the effect of teaching transportation of the injured at the accident scene by ...
متن کاملPlaying the Minesweeper with Constraints
We present the design and implementation of a Minesweeper game, augmented with a digital assistant. The assistant uses contraint programming techniques to help the player, and is able to play the game by itself. It predicts safe moves, and gives probabilistic information when safe moves cannot be found.
